Jaguar Land Rover Visit

Today we had a visit from Mr. Egan, who told us all about the F-type Jaguar car that he and his team build.
We had a presentation from Mr. Egan, which told us about how the cars are made…

We then got to see the real thing– and even take a ‘test drive’!

Even staff couldn’t resist…

Thank you again, Mr. Egan, we had a wonderful time today!

Here we are in our planning stage!

Later on in the day, we began building our dens! Here you will see works in progress as well as finished dens!

Year 4 Topic Presentation

Year 4 Topic Presentation

On Thursday we invited parents to view our recent topics (Romans, Ancient Mayans, Rainforest and Transport) as well as listen to a musical performance relating to this term’s topic, the water cycle.
Mr. Rogers had been helping us practice the lyrics and perform with the instruments, here we are at our rehearsal before the big event!

Studying erosion in Year 4

Studying erosion in Year 4

As part of our water topic we have been investigating erosion. We created model rivers using playdough and soil. We then poured water along the river and observed how the soil was carried along the stream and if any areas of playdough were also ‘eroded’ by the water and soil moving along.

We had many fantastic drivers….

We even had a ride on a miniature steam train!

Here are a few more pictures from our day!

We had a fantastic time and were a credit to Hollywood, well done everybody!

Year 4 Lego Workshop

Year 4 Lego Workshop

As part of this term’s history of transport topic, we participated in a Lego workshop! We built towers- aiming for the tallest tower in Year 4!

Then, we built our own cars to test and race on different ramps. We had to think carefully about the design of our cars- such as how fast they could go and if they would break!
